Documents Required:

  • Packing list
  • Copy of valid passport
  • Original bill of lading (no express release accepted) / AWB
  • Change or residence certificate or work contract (in French)
  • Original inventory in French, dated, valued, and signed by the owner of the goods
  • Invoices for the electrical and hi-fi appliances, valuable furniture, silverware, music instruments (declaration on the honor with year of purchase)

Motor Vehicles

Documents Required:

  • Original registration card
  • Original purchase invoice
  • Non-sale certificate
  • Customs form EUR 1 if vehicle EU origin

Specific Information:

  • Duty-free import:
    • Ground vehicle (car, motorbike, scooter, etc.):
      • If the owner of the goods has owned the motor vehicle for more than 18 months at the date of shipment and residence transfer (departure date) and if the motor vehicle is less than 24 months old (export Customs declaration date).
    • Sea or air vehicle (boat, plane, etc.):
      • If the owners of the goods has owned the motor vehicle for more than 18 months at the date of shipment and residence transfer (departure date).
  • Taxes will apply:
    • VH registered in EEC (European Economic Community): 27% of the value (according to Blue Book of New Caledonia) if the owner of the goods has the document EUR 1.
    • VH outside of EEC or owner of the goods has no EUR 1 form: 42% of the value (according to Blue Book of New Caledonia).
